My role with the GEMINI team:

In my role as Research Assistant, I work with members of the Research Operations and Data teams to submit research ethics applications, recruit patients, and coordinate schedules.

My educational background:

In my bachelor’s, I explored genetic detection methods for aquatic pathogens in salmon aquaculture. My experience with research in my master’s degree involved using plants to remediate contaminated legacy sites. Lastly, I have three years’ experience as a teaching assistant, helping students understand how human health is impacted by industrial activities in various ecological systems.

My past experience and accomplishments:

I received my Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Marine Biology with a minor in French from Dalhousie University. I am a candidate for a Master’s of Environmental Studies from Queen’s University.

I feel most inspired when:

I am tending to my garden!

A few of my favourite things are:

  • Early morning walks with my labrador retriever puppy

  • Baking (and eating) sourdough

  • Listening to podcasts
