Research Coordinator
My role with the GEMINI team:
I am a Research Coordinator II for the GEMINI team. The main project that I will be working on is the General Internal Medicine Patient and Caregiver Engagement and Perspectives study where I will be playing a lead role coordinating in-person and virtual focus groups to identify the opinions of general medicine inpatients and informal caregivers about quality improvement in general medicine. I will also be assisting with other various studies including but not limited to how hospitals performed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and using artificial intelligence to identify and predict delirium among hospitalized medical patients.
My educational background:
I received my Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Health Sciences and minoring in Kinesiology, in 2020. I received my Master of Arts in Geography at Simon Fraser University in 2022.
My past experience and accomplishments:
My past experiences include my master’s thesis project, which explored how older adults who migrate abroad experienced the pandemic in regard to their health amongst other factors. Additionally, I have experience working at Fraser Health with the Long Term Care research team as a Research Assistant, looking at the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Long Term Care. At Fraser Health I performed various roles data cleansing, analyzing, and synthesizing, along with qualitative research methodologies including semi-structured interviews, writing publications, and collaborating with medical staff.
I feel most inspired when:
I’m in a positive environment with people who are like-minded and determined to work hard, achieve excellence, and have fun while doing it!
